The short answer
Grams equals volume in millilitres multiplied by bulk density. Cured flower sits around 0.06 g/ml once loosely packed, concentrates around 1.0 to 1.2 g/ml, and most e-liquids around 1.0 to 1.1 g/ml. Powders vary widely, so always weigh a sample.
Flower: container size per gram weight
The sizes buyers ask for most, matched to the container volume that actually holds them without compressing the product.
- 1g: 15ml to 20ml container
- 3.5g (eighth): 60ml container, the most common dispensary format
- 7g (quarter): 90ml to 120ml container
- 14g (half ounce): 180ml to 240ml container
- 28g (ounce): 400ml to 480ml container
Concentrates and extracts
Concentrates are close to the density of water, so volume and weight track each other. A 5ml jar holds about 5g, a 9ml jar about 9g. Viscosity matters more than volume here: thick product needs a wide mouth so it can be scooped without heating.
- 1g concentrate: 5ml jar
- 3.5g concentrate: 9ml to 15ml jar
- 7g concentrate: 15ml to 20ml jar
Liquids in unicorn bottles
For e-liquid, grams and millilitres are near enough interchangeable for shipping weight, but not for fill. A 60ml unicorn bottle is designed to hold 60ml of liquid plus headspace, so the total filled weight lands around 75g to 85g including bottle and closure.
Why the chart is not exact
Bulk density changes with cure, grind and how firmly the product settles in transit. Buy one size up if your product is fluffy, and always validate with a filled sample before locking a run.
